I’ve been wanting for the longest time to have a place to write about new music I’m discovering to document, remember and share it all. Now that I’m mixing and producing my own stuff I’m listening to even more music for inspiration; it’s been this nagging thing in my head for a while now that it’s going to be impossible to remember everything I come across and enjoy if I don’t document it. If I don’t do it somewhat publicly I know I won’t hold myself to it. This place will also be a great way to organize thoughts that otherwise gets super messy in my brain. If I have a sound or feeling I want to revisit these entries will hopefully get me back there quicker. I also deeply miss talking and making friends through music and there’s something about the current social media landscape that doesn’t lend itself as well to that as it used to at least for myself. I hope this can become a way to make new friends the way streaming did for me last year.
About me: If we don’t know each other already through somewhere else my name is Ruben (they/he) I’m a musician and teacher in South Texas. I graduated with a degree in violin performance and I’m the frontperson for Kid Atomic my band that has seen a couple iterations since 2016. We’re just stating back up this new line up as of last year and hoping to release some stuff very soon.
